Ecology & Environmental Sustainability
Take the first step!
INTRODUCTION:
In a rapidly changing world, we are being confronted with a number of environmental challenges. The impact of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution are having an immediate influence on our environment and are a major concern to society. The need for improvements in our approach to the environment and to become more sustainable in our practices will ensure that we are able to meet and adapt to the challenges ahead for the benefit of current and future generations.
This course will provide students with knowledge and skills to address these environmental challenges effectively by applying theory to real-world issues. There will be a strong hands-on and practical emphasis in the course and students will be introduced to important aspects of environmental protection and sustainable development.
This is an exciting, challenging, and fast changing area of education and will provide students with the necessary tools to progress to third level education or gain employment. This course will give students the foundation needed to pursue a career in ecology, conservation, and sustainable management.
