Woodland Walk

Take the first step!

Woodland Walk:

Tramore Road Campus have constructed a greenway amenity around the college campus. The project was started in February 2018 by the Horticulture department as a green initiative to promote awareness of our natural environment and function as a student/staff amenity. It is envisaged that this amenity will serve to highlight biodiversity, a greater appreciation of preserving our natural environment and facilitate outdoor recreational walking for both staff and students.

This project has been developed over several years. The project initially involved one section of the campus grounds cleared and maintained by students and staff of the Horticulture Department The sucess of this initiative led to the planning and budgeting for an extension of the project to develop the greenway throughout the perimeter of the college campus. This continued development involves the preservation and utilization of existing trees, clearing of waste areas, litter management, replanting of native trees and plants and the continued development of groundworks around the perimeter to construct a gravel walkway.

This greenway is a valued resource within our campus and we encourage all staff and students to use the greenway to promote health & wellbeing, foster a greater awareness of biodiversity and promote the preservation of our natural environment.
